Visitors can see and experience innovations for themselves at ESEF Maakindustrie and Technishow at machine factory Boessenkool, among others. The company, together with parent company Osse Equipment Group, will show various products developed together with customers on the exhibition floor. These include a mega-drone Drone4Agro for the agricultural sector and logistics, as well as the electrically powered tool carrier MultiToolTrac.

ESEF Maakindustrie is the largest event in Benelux in the field of supplying, subcontracting, product development and engineering, while Technishow is the largest platform for the manufacturing industry in Benelux.

Machinefabriek Boessenkool is a machine factory in the broadest sense of the word, with a history dating back 117 years. Director and owner Eelco Osse says: "We produce large bulky products with high accuracy, where we can also do classified welding. We support customers from A to Z, from assembly to machining, assembly and finally delivery of products. We produce both individual parts and complete machines. Boessenkool specialises in turning, carousel turning, drilling, boring, milling and certified welding."

MultiToolTrac and Mega-Drone
In some cases, products are marketed by Boessenkool in collaboration with customers. "These are usually placed with separate entities, which, like Machinefabriek Boessenkool, are part of the Osse Equipment Manufacturing Group. In many cases, these are joint ventures with customers." One example is the MultiToolTrac, a fully electric-powered and track-adjustable tool carrier marketed by Boessenkool together with partners. Another development is a mega-drone Drone4Agro that can lift a weight of up to 500 kilos and is also called a flying tractor. Among other things, the drone can be used for spraying crops in agriculture, but as Drone4Logistics, it can also be used for e.g. supplies in disaster areas.

However, also consider the DeSpray recycling plant, aimed at waste processors. This plant can recycle four million aerosols on an annual basis. Boessenkool has now delivered the DeSpray installation to several customers, including Suez in Maastricht and a listed waste processor in the US state of Nevada. Osse: "Another example are the KiNext flywheels, an energy storage system for power grids that is being marketed together with partner S4 Energy."

Large Haldron Collider
The machine factory recently concluded a comprehensive deal with the CERN Institute, which developed the Large Haldron Collider (LHC) in Geneva, Switzerland. The company supplies 335 metres of vacuum tubes for this particle accelerator, in which atomic particles are collided. A total of 38 'vacuum vessels' are involved, ranging in length from 5 to 12 metres each. The tubes are suitable for ultra-high vacuum, where the pressure is less than 10-5 Pa.

Boessenkool is a returning participant at ESEF Maakindustrie and Technishow. During the ESEF Awards at the 2016 edition of the fairs, Boessenkool won prizes. For example, the mega-drone for the agricultural sector was awarded the Made in Holland Award, while the Sustainable Innovation Award was awarded to the company's DeSpray system. The MultiToolTrac was awarded innovator status by the jury.

See products with your own eyes
At ESEF Maakindustrie 2020, Boessenkool will show several products, including its mega-drone. "Our drone will be suspended in the exhibition hall and can be seen by visitors with their own eyes. We are also showing a model of the KiNext flywheels. We will demonstrate the operation of the DeSpray installation using augmented reality (AR). Visitors can walk through this machine themselves via an IPad AR app and see the operation with their own eyes."

Among other things, the company shows how it works closely with the market to come up with innovative products and, if required, also brings them to market together with customers. "The flywheels, DeSpray installation and other products in our portfolio are a good example of this; almost all of these products are supplied through a joint venture."

'Different from other supplier fairs'
"The combination between ESEF and Technishow is very relevant to us, as we are active as a machine builder as well as marketing our own products. The fairs not only attract parties looking for suppliers, but also visitors interested in end products. This combination makes ESEF Maakindustrie different from other supplier fairs."

ESEF Maakindustrie 2020 and Technishow 2020 will be organised simultaneously from 17 to 20 March 2020 at Jaarbeurs, Utrecht.
