Busy trade shows TechniShow and ESEF Maakindustrie brimming with innovations and valuable business leads
Utrecht, 19 March 2024 - Royal Jaarbeurs's TechniShow and ESEF Maakindustrie trade shows concluded very successfully. TechniShow counted 29,337 visitors and ESEF Maakindustrie 12,646 visitors. Together, this makes the trade shows the largest platform in Benelux in the field of industrial production technology, processing and machining of metals, plastics, accessories and tools. Ricardo Vivas, exhibition manager: "The exhibition floor was buzzing. There was huge interest in new solutions and techniques. Many machines were also sold and orders signed. The Netherlands leads the way in the manufacturing industry because we are agile, but also because we are open to new techniques."
Forward-thinking entrepreneurs are making the most of opportunities
TechniShow and ESEF Manufacturing were all about innovative, smart and sustainable solutions. Under the theme ‘The Manufacturing Industry of Tomorrow’, over 276 exhibitors at TechniShow and 155 exhibitors at ESEF Manufacturing Industry pulled out all the stops with machinery and demonstrations to showcase their innovations, new technologies and solutions. Ricardo Vivas: “I can see that the Dutch manufacturing industry is reorienting itself. After years of very high production volumes, the time has come to ask: what next? Entrepreneurs are open to innovation, forward-thinking and see plenty of opportunities. That enthusiasm among our entrepreneurs in the industry is remarkable.”
The manufacturing industry’s clubhouse
Exhibitors are also looking back with satisfaction. Hendrik Meijer, director of the Meijer Group: “Taking part in ESEF Manufacturing once again generated valuable leads. Existing customers are now bringing their engineers to the trade fair, which led to valuable discussions about the production process. We can look back on a successful event.” For exhibitor Hugo Oude Reimer, too, TechniShow was a valuable event. “When you see how many innovations and machines are here and how many people are visiting, you realise there’s a huge demand among visitors to see the manufacturing industry. You’re simply in the heart of the manufacturing industry here. This concept is a foretaste of what’s to come in 2026.”
From women in the manufacturing industry to a real factory
TechniShow and ESEF Manufacturing jointly provide a platform where business, research, education and government come together for demonstrations, innovations and networking opportunities. One of the highlights of TechniShow was the unique, fully operational factory, showcased on the exhibition floor for the first time, where nine different organisations set up a fully integrated production automation system. The Additive Manufacturing theme area was also well attended, allowing visitors to see the entire 3D printing process. There was great interest in the session on ‘Women in the manufacturing industry’. Ricardo Vivas: “Women are playing an increasingly important role in the manufacturing industry. They hold managerial positions, carry out engineering work and are involved in cutting-edge technological developments. It is therefore very important to provide these women with a platform on the exhibition floor.”
