Clean City and technology partners HyMove and Venema have presented the 'GameChanger 1'. It is the first mobile, off-grid power generator with a hydrogen fuel cell for fast charging of electric vehicles.
With the ability to simultaneously charge two electric vehicles with a total power of 120 kW, the 'GameChanger 1' was specially developed to meet the needs of the Port of Livorno, which is one of the largest European hubs for electric cars. EVs are thus charged on board Roll-on-roll-off vessels. By the end of 2024, Clean City and its partners will present the 'GameChanger 2', the first mobile off-grid megawatt power generator with a capacity of 800 kW DC on a trailer. This can simultaneously charge four cars or one electric truck according to the new standard for Megawat Charging Systems (MCS).
Integrated Multi Generation System
Clean City, a Swiss engineering firm committed to the carbon-free energy transition, has successfully developed the Integrated Multi Generation System (IMGS). It is an innovative, clean and cost-effective solution for fast-charging EVs using direct current.

Hydrogen fuel cell systems
HyMove designs and manufactures hydrogen fuel cell systems. These are reliable and safe solutions for clean mobility and stationary power generation. HyMove fuel cell systems have already been successfully deployed in a range of applications, such as buses, ships, the construction industry and container handling.
Charging and battery systems
Venema E-Mobility Charge Systems Venema (VECS) designs and supplies charging and battery systems. These are intended for the heavy-duty market. The company is convinced that a charging infrastructure, combined with batteries for electricity storage and additional energy carriers such as hydrogen, can accelerate the energy transition.
No grid load
"Off-grid DC power is destined to become the real game changer in e-mobility," said Agim Gjinali, founder and CEO of Clean City. "Especially in a scenario with a rapidly growing need for DC power for data centres and the limited capacity of the AC grid. In the energy mix of 2050, local generation of energy using hydrogen will be dominant."

Mobile power generator
Alberto Caetani, COO of Clean City: "We are facing a real revolution. Until now, mobile and off-grid solutions all went in the direction of powerbanks. Battery packs that are charged from the grid to then charge electric vehicles themselves. Clean City is bringing a truly mobile power generator to the market. It is capable of using decentralised generated green energy to charge EVs continuously 24/7 without putting a strain on the already overloaded electric grid.
Infrastructure
"With the mobile, off-grid power generator with a hydrogen fuel cell, we contribute to a greener world, but at the same time reduce the need for huge, long-term investments in the electric infrastructure. This is under increasing pressure and is even close to saturation point. Our solutions mean relief for the Dutch infrastructure, but also for Europe and the whole world," explained Theo Hendriks, founder and CEO of HyMove.
2,000 mobile charging units
Clean City and HyMove enter into a strategic partnership for the production of 2,000 mobile charging units (in vans and containers). With this, they intend to serve the whole of Europe. Guests from all over Europe attended the announcement of the partnership.
