Dutch manufacturing industry is running at full speed. Despite corona, companies have not been sitting still on innovation in recent years. The upcoming TechniShow and ESEF Maakindustrie offer the chance to catch up and experience for yourself how production can be even easier and more efficient. Jaarbeurs, TechniShow, ESEF Maakindustrie and MTL Metaal Magazine will jointly hold an MTL Talk about the upcoming trade shows. The webinar can be followed live on 28 June.

Since 2018, the last TechniShow/ESEF Maakindustrie, the industry in the Benelux has not come together on such a large scale. Meanwhile, developments at numerous manufacturers and suppliers of industrial production techniques, processing and machining of metals and plastics, accessories and tools, have certainly not been idle. Between 30 August and 2 September, they would like to tell you about it and also demonstrate it. The perfect opportunity to get up to speed again.

Flexible Manufacturing

But what exactly can visitors expect? André Gaalman, president of FPT-VIMAG sketches a picture of the upcoming trade fair during MTL Talk.

Andre Gaalman

"The Dutch manufacturing industry has a good starting position with full order books. And the high-tech (semiconductor) industry acts as a catalyst chain-wide. Here, customers increasingly demand small and many different series. Flexible production therefore makes smart industry more important than ever."

Earning on circularity

"Smart industry will also increasingly be combined with circularity in the future," Mark Courage, director smart industry at TNO, told MTL Talk.

"In the future, manufacturers will be responsible not only for the products they make but also for end-of-life collection and recycling."

Digitisation brings individual production parts and costs into clear focus. In his view, if those costs are well understood, there is also room to earn on this. "Good to anticipate this now," says Courage, who will also hold a session on this during TechniShow/ESEF Maakindustrie.

Responding to challenges

challenges for the sector are also there, for example in the supply of materials and electronic components and the acute shortage of skilled technical staff.

During this free webinar, Gaalman and Courage will discuss the ways in which the sector is responding to this and proactively dealing with it. And that this also creates opportunities to work smarter by automating specific processes.

During MTL Talk, Niels van Olffen (Mr Servitization) explains what he, as a visitor, will look out for when visiting the trade fair. Editor-in-chief Tom van der Meer of MTL Metaal Magazine will present the webinar.

"It will be a good fair"

TechniShow and ESEF will be combined this edition. "This is different than usual, but it will be a good fair anyway," says the FPT-VIMAG chairman.

"In any case, I expect more trade visitors and decision-makers. Above all, it is important and very good to be able to see each other again in a trade fair context and to catch up."
